Sessions

Sessions

Home > Children’s Centre > Sessions

We run a number of sessions across our Children’s Centre.

Baby Group

Baby groups can be a real lifeline as a new parent; they have you a reason to get dressed and leave the house, there is a chance for you to talk to other adults and soft, sensory play for babies available. There are lots of potential ways to help your baby’s learning and development too. All sessions end with a circle time singing session, which both adults and babies love.

Baby Massage

For you and your baby. These sessions enhance physical and emotional development through gentle massaging. Massaging supports the baby’s immune and digestive systems, it also helps to cleanse the skin and ensures flexibility. Massaging aids emotional development and bonding through eye contact, voice and touch with your baby!

Baby Weighing

We were very aware how difficult it is now for parents to weigh their babies and check that they are maintaining a healthy weight. Lots of the Health Centres/Clinic run a very strict appointment system and appointments are very hard to get. We have been fortunate enough to obtain a set of baby weighing scales and provide a weekday drop in session to enable parents to bring their babies in to be weighed.

Cuppa and a Chat – Parent drop in session

These sessions are for anyone that would like advice, support, help with forms or documents or just a general chat with one of our friendly, qualified member of staff. They are informal and open but one to one sessions can also be provided.

Family Links

This is a 10 week nurturing programme for parents and carers. Children are rewarding, stimulating and fun, but looking after them can be stressful and challenging. The nurturing programme helps deal with those challenges so that you can have a calmer, happier life. For further information please click the link below.  Family Links Information Leaflet.

Rhyme Time and Story session

These sessions are fun, interactive and loved by the children. Familiar songs are sung and a different story read at every session. The children and adults are encouraged to join in with the songs/rhymes and there are action songs to join in with too.

Stay and Play

Stay and Play sessions encourage children and parents to play and learn together to improve attachments, relationships, strengthen bonds, and support children’s overall development. There will be a variety of resources and play equipment and children will be encouraged to explore messy play and outside activities. Please wear suitable clothing.

Stay and Play for children with additional needs

These sessions run much the same as the other stay & play session, but cater for individual needs. They are set in a safe and secure outdoor space to allow the parent and child to relax and play. There is a variety of resources and children will be encouraged to explore messy play. As this an outdoor session, appropriate clothing is essential.

Childminding Group

Ofsted Outstanding
  • Together, you research effective education practice, tailoring it to support the development needs of every child. As a result, all children make substantial gains in their learning. They are very well prepared for primary school.

    Ofsted

  • You have a clear vision for the school and are supported by excellent practitioners at every level. You and your team reflect continually on what is best for the children in your care.

    Ofsted

  • Parents commented that, even the small things, like the issuing of fridge magnets with a picture of their children’s key worker, really helped their children to get ready for their time at the school and to settle in swiftly. Right from day one, there is a friendly face to meet and greet them.
