Hampden Way: November 2021

What a busy month we’ve had! We celebrated Diwali at the beginning of the month, making clay diyas, Rangoli patterns and learning about the story of Rama and Sita. We celebrated bonfire night, cooked popcorn on the fire and made spectacular firework paintings. We’ve been inspired by British land artist James Brunt and used all our autumn treasures to create pictures and patterns. Thank you for collecting so many autumn treasures for us to use. We were also inspired by the book ‘Junk DNA’ to create more patterns using small metal objects. We’ve had a couple of ‘wild days’, which are always fun, where we open up the front garden and children from all rooms in the nursery get to explore and play together. The children made nature wands and crowns, swung on the rope swing and in the hammock, made chalk rainbows and used ‘magic’ to change the colour of the flames on the fire. We’ve baked cakes and cookies and had a wonderful ‘rainbow day’ to raise money for Children in Need. We raised just over £100. Thank you so much for your generous donations. We hope you enjoy seeing what we’ve been up to, with love from all at Hampden Way x

Ofsted Outstanding
  • Together, you research effective education practice, tailoring it to support the development needs of every child. As a result, all children make substantial gains in their learning. They are very well prepared for primary school.

    Ofsted

  • You have a clear vision for the school and are supported by excellent practitioners at every level. You and your team reflect continually on what is best for the children in your care.

    Ofsted

  • Parents commented that, even the small things, like the issuing of fridge magnets with a picture of their children’s key worker, really helped their children to get ready for their time at the school and to settle in swiftly. Right from day one, there is a friendly face to meet and greet them.
